The Canterbury Geriatric Medical Research Trust was established in 1986 to fund research into the health care of older people and provide continuing education opportunities for clinicians working with older people. We are a charitable organisation, dedicated to investigation into, and information about issues concerning our aging population. Today, the Canterbury Geriatric Medical Research Trust supplies expert research services to pharmaceutical, medical and surgical research and other scientific bodies around the world, focusing on prevention and treatment studies involving male and female subjects from teenage years on. CGM offers efficient and cost-effective management and facilities to undertake studies and clinical trials in research areas including issues around memory lapses, arthritis, bone, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, infection, neurological, nutrition and surgery. As one of New Zealand’s leading research trusts, the Canterbury Geriatric Medical Research Trust especially prides itself on its ability to recruit subjects for clinical trials and research. As a small country with a sound infrastructure and regulatory environment, New Zealand offers special benefits to scientific organisations as a research trial site. |
